Chengdu Wide Horizon New Town Development
Project 2018 – 2024
Luxelakes Eco-City is a 550-hectare model environmentally sustainable urban development containing 150 hectares of manmade lakes. From inception in 2005 it adopted the Sponge City concept, using wetlands to manage and filter water run off while providing green and blue open spaces with extensive boardwalks and landscaping.
C15 combines architectural ingenuity with functionality overlooking a scenic lakeside setting. The development comprises five striking towers on a two-storey retail podium.
Three of the towers have a unique Y-shaped floorplate housing three luxury 3-bedroom apartments per floor. The remaining two towers have H-shaped floorplates, accommodating four 3-bedroom apartments per floor with efficient space utilisation and a sense of exclusivity for each resident.
The apartments sit on a two-storey podium blending the comforts of home with the convenience and activation of shopping and dining.
A dynamic pattern of contrasting balconies creates a striking visual identity, while the varying heights, from 26 to 41 storeys, create a unique silhouette on the skyline.
Denton Corker Marshall has been working with the Developer, Chengdu Wide Horizon New Town Development, since 2019 and has designed apartments on three sites: C15, completed in 2024; C27 completed in 2025; and C16 scheduled for completion in 2026.
In association with CPD and documented by China Institute of Building Standard Design and Research.
