About this project
A fully developed design for the Multiplex Rothschild Consortium PPP bid. The architectural concept addresses the redevelopment of an existing mainline station to create a highly functional multi-modal interchange, with a design solution that goes beyond creating a distinctive building and provides the city with a destination and station landmark.
The interchange is located on the link between the CBD and Docklands. The creation of an address plaza and main entry at the prime street corner immediately and firmly establishes a major city presence whilst at the same time signifying the transition into the Docklands.
Varying transportation modes (suburban trains, country and interstate trains, trams, buses, taxis, cars, service vehicles and pedestrians) are combined as seamlessly as possible in this distinctive structure.
