Project 2024 – current
Luxelakes Eco-City is a 550-hectare model environmentally sustainable urban development containing 150 hectares of manmade lakes. From inception in 2005 it adopted the Sponge City concept, using wetlands to manage and filter water run off while providing green and blue open spaces with extensive boardwalks and landscaping.
The C16 development is a testament to collaboration and innovative design. We refined a solution in close partnership with Chengdu Wide Horizon Investment Group creating a unique footprint design that optimises lake views and harmonises with the adjacent C15 development.
The resultant composition is inspired by the lake’s flowing form, along with adopting flowing shapes, such as Alvar Aalto’s iconic Iittala vases, in a unique contrasting twin-tower like appearance.
At 23 and 29 storeys, the towers contain three spacious 250m2 and 315m2 apartments per floor with expansive balconies offering panoramic views and natural light throughout, while private lift lobbies provide exclusivity and comfort.
Blending context, form, and resident experience, the towers are a unique premium offering.
Denton Corker Marshall has been working with the Developer, Chengdu Wide Horizon New Town Development, since 2019 and has designed apartments on three sites: C15, completed in 2024; C27 completed in 2025; and C16 scheduled for completion in 2026.
