Competition 2012
About this project
DCM’s shortlisted competition entry for the Law, Business and Economics Complex at Monash University’s Caulfield campus accommodates the two faculties in flexible and collaborative environments while supporting the broader campus academic program with a 500-seat teaching space.
The complex also accommodates a range of convenience and essential retail and food and beverage outlets focused on a campus room hub.
The development adds vitality to the western end of the campus. Importantly, the design creates a space of civic scale to the community.
The bold distinctive cantilevered forms exploit the site’s high-profile location, on the corner of Derby and Princes Highway and opposite the Caulfield Train Station, to declare the University’s dynamic presence.
